Penn State Health elevates two leaders, and others take on new roles.
Patrick McGill, MD, has played a key role in the evolution of the Community Health Network, and now he’s poised to lead the Indiana system.
Patrick McGill, MD
McGill has been named the next president and chief executive officer of Community Health Network. Based in Indianapolis, the health system operates 10 hospitals and more than 200 healthcare locations.
He will begin serving as CEO on Jan. 1, 2026. The network announced the appointment of McGill last week.
McGill has served as executive vice president and the system’s chief transformation officer. He has focused on upgrading the system’s technology and leading initiatives in value-based care and health equity.
Rafael A. Sanchez, chair of the system’s board of directors, said McGill was selected after an extensive national search.
“The Board considered candidates from across the country and Dr. McGill emerged as the clear choice to lead us forward. His clinical expertise, strategic vision, and deep commitment to innovation and equity make him uniquely qualified to serve as CEO,” Sanchez said in a statement.
McGill succeeds Bryan Mills, who announced his retirement earlier this year, wrapping up a career of more than 40 years.
“I am honored and humbled to step into the role of President and CEO,” McGill said in a statement. “Community Health Network is more than a healthcare system. It’s a mission-driven organization rooted in compassion, innovation and service. I look forward to working with our exceptional team to build on our legacy and shape the future of care for the communities we serve.”
Kyle Snyder and Tracy Moyer
Penn State Health names president, chief financial officer
Two leaders at Penn State Health have moved into new roles.
Kyle Snyder has been named Penn State Health’s president and chief operating officer, while Tracy Moyer has been appointed the vice president and chief financial officer.
Snyder previously served as a regional president and led the Holy Spirit and Hampden medical centers. He has over two decades of experience in the healthcare industry. He succeeds outgoing chief operating officer Deborah Addo.
Snyder touted Penn State’s investments in new hospitals and said he’s “excited to help drive our evolution into a world-class health system.”
“Penn State Health plays a vital role in delivering expert, reliable care to southcentral Pennsylvania. I’m honored to lead a team so deeply committed to our mission and proud of the capabilities we’ve built together,” Snyder said in a statement.
Moyer has served as interim chief financial officer since June, and she formerly held the role of senior vice president of system financial services. She also has spent more than 20 years at Penn State Health.
“Although the health care industry faces financial challenges, I’m confident that by focusing on efficiency, transformation initiatives and revenue growth, Penn State Health will not only meet these challenges head-on but also strengthen our ability to thrive and serve our communities with excellence,” Moyer said in a statement.
Dr. Michael Kupferman, CEO of Penn State Health, said the appointments of both leaders illustrate the strength of the system’s leadership pipeline.
“Tracy and Kyle are leaders who have demonstrated unwavering dedication, strategic vision and the ability to lead through complexity and change,” Kupferman said in a statement.

Jason Lineen has been named interim chief of UVA Health Children’s.
Lineen serves as UVA Health’s chief strategy officer, and he’ll continue in that role. He succeeds Cindy Bo, who is currently away from the role for personal reasons.
Lineen joined UVA Health in January 2021. He has been a key player in the development of the system’s 10-year strategic plan.
The children’s hospital is expanding its services, and is increasing the number of neonatal intensive care unit beds from 60 to 100.
“I have seen firsthand the incredible compassion and skill our team brings every day to serve our patients and families,” Lineen said in a statement. “I’m excited to work alongside them to make sure every family that needs their exceptional care can receive it.”
