Richards will oversee pediatric health services across all of Intermountain health, which serves communities in six states.

“Many of our Children’s Health caregivers are nurses, so I have seen firsthand the empathy and excellence they bring to their work,” Richards said in a statement. “Children’s Health has an impressive impact on our communities; they have truly built a strong foundation of quality pediatric care,” she said. “I am so privileged to have this new opportunity to lead and advocate on two fronts now, both nursing and Children’s Health.”

Intermountain also expanded the role of another pediatric leader in the system.

Dustin Lipson, president of Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital, Salt Lake Campus will also serve as children’s market president for the Canyons Region, overseeing the pediatric hospitals and specialty outpatient pediatric care from southwestern Idaho through central Utah.

“I am deeply committed to ensuring the continued success of our pediatric operations within Children’s Health, and I relish the opportunity to work together to build the model health system our children deserve,” Lipson said in a statement.

Both Richards and Lipson will retain their titles.

Intermountain launched a $600 million campaign to expand its pediatric health services, including the second campus of its Primary Children’s Hospital, the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Campus, last year.
