Avoid Becoming "A Slave to the Big Data"
Doug L. Wood, Medical Director at the Mayo Clinic Center for Innovation, detailed the pros and cons of hospital analytics.
The Mayo Clinic Center for Innovation uses analytics for some purposes, but is wary of dependence on them, Medical Director Doug L. Wood explained in an interview. He described ways in which the Center uses them to mitigate the risk of unnecessary procedures, but also cautions that they often tell you more about the past than the future. The interview took place at Transform 2017, hosted by the Center for Innovation in Rochester, Minnesota.
