The founder of Cost Plus Drugs outlined the problems of the healthcare industry during his keynote address at the HLTH Conference.

Mark Cuban has never been afraid to speak his mind, and he reinforced that reputation at the HLTH Conference Sunday night.

Speaking before a crowd of thousands of healthcare leaders, Cuban talked bluntly about the industry's problems and the patients who are paying the price.

The owner of Cost Plus Drugs, which sells low-cost prescriptions online, Cuban railed against pharmacy benefit managers for high prices that keep medications out of reach for many Americans.

He also blasted Republicans and Democrats for the government shutdown, and predicted that many Americans would see what's at stake when they try to see higher prices for health insurance when open enrollment begins in a couple of weeks.

In a speech that drew repeated rounds of applause, Cuban also implored the healthcare leaders in the audience to take action and help solve some of these problems.

Here's my rundown of Cuban's talk at HLTH.
