
Intermountain Health names regional president, and more | MED MOVES
RWJBarnabas Health names a new hospital president, and others take new roles.
Eric Liston has been named the president of Intermountain Health’s Canyons Region.
In that post, Liston will oversee Intermountain’s hospitals and clinics from central Utah and into Idaho. The system said he will lead clinical and business operations across the region and aim to strengthen relationships with physicians and community partners.
Liston has worked with Intermountain for 25 years. He succeeds Sue Robel, who is retiring in February. She held the post for four years.
Rob Allen, president and CEO of Intermountain Health, said he’s excited to have Liston step into the role.
“Eric’s breadth of leadership experience across Intermountain has given him a deep understanding of the value and impact of an integrated health system working together for the benefit of our patients and the communities we serve,” Allen said in a statement.
Liston said he’s “honored, humbled, and excited” to begin his new role.
“I am passionate about the amazing work we do as an organization and am thrilled to collaborate with our caregivers to make a meaningful impact on people's lives and serve our communities,” Liston said in a statement.
RWJBarnabas Health names hospital president
Jonathan P. Kyriacou has been named president and chief executive officer of the Jersey City Medical Center.

Most recently, he served as the chief operating officer at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, a 1,134-bed academic medical center. He oversaw the development of the new Mount Sinai Tisch Cancer Hospital.
Thomas A. Biga, executive vice president of RWJBarnabas Health and president the system’s northwest region, hailed Kyriacou’s experience.
“Jonathan's track record in operational excellence, strategic planning, and high-quality patient care aligns perfectly with the mission, vision, values, and goals of RWJBarnabas Health and Jersey City Medical Center,” Biga said in a statement. “His leadership will be instrumental in our efforts to grow and enhance our services in Hudson County.”
RWJBarnabas Health operates 14 hospitals across New Jersey.
Texas Children’s appoints director of cancer center
Will Parsons, MD, had been named director of Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center and chief of the division of hematology-oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine.
Parsons had held those titles in an interim role. He is also working closely in the development of
Debra F. Sukin, president and CEO of Texas Children’s, said the move is another step toward helping patients and families.
“Every day, the work we do together at Texas Children’s transforms lives, and Dr. Parsons’ leadership will help us write the next chapter in that story of hope, courage and progress,” Sukin said in a statement.
The Kinder Foundation donated $150 million for the development of the new cancer center. In an interview with Chief Healthcare Executive® last year, Parsons spoke enthusiastically about the effort.
“It allows us to be even more strategic about how we want to focus those research dollars to build upon areas of strength between the two institutions,” he said.
HCA Midwest names chief medical officer of Missouri hospital
Sabrina Kidd, MD, has been named chief medical officer of Centerpoint Medical Center, part of HCA Midwest Health in Kansas City.
The medical center, a 285-bed acute care hospital, is based in Independence, Missouri.
Kidd, a colorectal and general surgeon, brings nearly 15 years of healthcare clinical and leadership experience. She previously worked as a chief medical executive in the Sutter Health system in California.
She also grew up in Kansas City, so she’s familiar with the region.
“I’m honored to join Centerpoint Medical Center and partner with our dedicated physicians, nurses, and colleagues to advance the high-quality, compassionate care our patients deserve,” Kidd said in a statement. “Growing up in Kansas City, this community shaped me — and returning home to continue to strengthen the hospital that serves this area is especially meaningful. I look forward to supporting our teams as we enhance clinical excellence and patient experience.”
