Bradley Goettl takes the key role for the American Nurses Enterprise, which represents more than 5 million nurses. Other leaders also have been tapped for new posts.

Bradley Goettl has been appointed the new chief nursing officer of the American Nurses Enterprise.

The enterprise includes the American Nurses Association, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and the American Nurses Foundation. He joined the organization, which represents more than 5 million nurses, on April 21.

Goettl called it “a humbling and exciting opportunity to be the next chief nursing officer and a member of the American Nurses Enterprise’s executive team.”

Most recently, Goettl served as the interim co-executive director and chief clinical officer of the Emergency Nurses Association.

Earlier this year, he was appointed Nurse Executive in Residence at Georgetown University School of Nursing.

Jennifer Mensik Kennedy, president of the American Nurses Association, hailed Goettl’s experience and said he is “a nationally recognized executive nurse leader.”

Angela Beddoe, chief executive officer of American Nurses Enterprise, outlined Goettl’s impressive credentials.

“Brad’s forward-looking perspectives, unwavering passion, his contributions within membership associations and professional development programs, and his national and international perspectives make him a perfect fit for this strategic executive leadership role,” Beddoe said in a statement.

Goettl also previously served as director of advanced practice provider fellowships programs at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He has certification as an emergency nurse, emergency nurse practitioner, adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner, certified flight registered nurse, and as an emergency medical technician – paramedic.

Jennifer Crabtree

Tampa General Hospital names head of research district

Jennifer Crabtree has been named the senior vice president of Tampa General Hospital and president of the Tampa Medical & Research District.

Tampa General has designed the district to be a place for clinical care and research. The district represents a partnership between Tampa General and the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine.

Crabtree will begin in the role on Oct. 1. Previously, she served as vice president of corporate communications and chief of staff for Tampa General’s Office of the President & CEO.

She said Tampa General envisioned the district as “a robust and inclusive health care and life sciences ecosystem.”

“Given the rapid growth Tampa is seeing, this feels like a pivotal moment to step into this role and continue building on the incredible things we’ve achieved already with our partners over the last few years,” Crabtree said in a statement. “And at the same time, when we think about the potential this District still holds, we understand that this important work is just getting started.”

John Couris, president and CEO of Tampa General Hospital, described Crabtree as “an invaluable strategic partner in the growth and development of the Tampa Medical & Research District since its inception.”

H. John Pounardjian

RWJBarnabas Health appoints financial leader of cancer institute

H. John Pounardjian has been named chief financial and administrative officer of RWJBarnabas Health and the Rutgers Cancer Institute.

Pounardjian also will serve as deputy director for administration and planning. He will join the organization on June 1.

Rutgers and RWJBarnabas Health are preparing to open the state’s first freestanding cancer hospital, the Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center, later this year.

Pounardjian comes to the Rutgers Cancer Institute from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. Most recently, he served as the associate vice president and associate director for administration of the university’s cancer center.

He succeeds Linda Tanzer, who is retiring after 30 years.

“I am thrilled to come to the east coast to join Rutgers Cancer Institute and RWJBarnabas Health during a transformative time in its history,” Pounardjian said in a statement.

Steven K. Libutti, MD, William N. Hait Director of Rutgers Cancer Institute and senior vice president of oncology services at RWJBarnabas Health, praised Pounardjian for his “exceptional expertise in administration and finance.”

Karen Pinsky, MD

Penn Medicine hospital names CEO

After serving in an interim capacity, Karen Pinsky, MD, has been appointed chief executive officer of Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital.

Pinsky had been serving as interim CEO since July 2024 and has more than 20 years of experience with the health system. She previously served as chief medical officer of Chester County Hospital, and as the medical director of newborn and pediatric services at the CHOP Care Network at CCH.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Pinsky led a regional vaccination effort. She also previously served as the hospital's chief quality and medical information officer.

Kevin B. Mahoney, CEO of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, said Pinsky has been a key leader at Penn Medicine.

“Dr. Pinsky brings an energetic and visionary leadership with a passion for driving safe, high-quality patient care and strong engagement among employees, physicians, and the surrounding community,” Mahoney said in a statement.
