"Payment is in Flux Right Now," Daniel Lace, MD, Speaks on Telemedicine

Video

The CMO of Leaders in Medicine sat down with Healthcare Analytics News for a ranging interview focused on value-based care and innovation.

Healthcare Analytics recently sat down with Daniel Lace, MD, the Chief Medical Officer of Leaders in Medicine. In the first part of the interview, Lace dove in on how mobile technology is changing medicine, but how payment has not necessarily kept up.

“Payment for communications with patients is kind of in flux right now,” he says, “Telemedicine is gaining a lot of traction in terms of reimbursement…but telemedicine and asynchronous communication with providers and patients is a different type of animal.”

It comes back, for Lace, to determining the value of the communications to determine how reimbursement will work.
