CareSelect Imaging Adds Change Healthcare AI Solution to Decision Support Suite

Change Healthcare today announced the addition of an artificial intelligence (AI) solution to CareSelect Imaging’s decision support solution, which aims to enhance workflow efficiency for providers using an electronic health record.

Along with increased efficiency, Change Healthcare touts that its solution could improve patient safety, provide higher-value care and meet pending regulatory requirements.

“We’re committed to optimizing clinical, administrative and regulatory processes by infusing Change Healthcare AI into existing workflows across our large installed base of payers and providers,” said Nick Giannasi, Ph.D., executive vice president and chief AI officer for Change Healthcare.

CareSelect Imaging uses Change Healthcare’s solution to help physicians streamline imaging orders. When providers make an order, it triggers a decision support session. Providers can leverage patient, provider and order context for the AI prediction model.

The technology has the potential to reduce provider burden with automated indication selection, streamlining the provider ordering workflow.

The AI tool also helps providers comply with Protecting Access to Medicare Act (PAMA) requirements, which governs advanced imaging ordered under Medicare Part B.

The goal of the decision support solution is to improve quality of care and patient outcomes, simplify user experience, expand relevant data and assist providers with PAMA compliance.
